Competing at the highest levels of 3-day Eventing while pursuing the honor of representing my country demands my full dedication 24/7, seven days a week, 365 days a year...and then some. However, I could not possibly achieve the success I have without the help of many of my friends and family, and of course my sponsors. I cannot thank them enough for expressing their faith in me, and the aid they have given me along the way. It means very much to me to experience the generosity of others, and drives me even harder to perform at the top to repay them for their kindness.

If you are interested in joining the experience of a top level equine athlete and his humble jockey, there are several ways you can get involved. I am currently a member of the American Horse Trials Foundation (see below) through which you can donate funds in a tax deductible manner. These funds go directly towards my efforts with Nyls.

You can also choose to become a sponsor through your company, which can be of great advertising power. Nyls has gathered quite a following in his relatively short career, and never goes unnoticed at competitions. He has many fans who constantly want to know the secret to his success. Together, we can help promote your product and services by:

* Wearing your product logo while competing.

* Using your product, reccommending it and appearing in your advertisements.

* Hanging your advertising banners on the stables at competitions.

* Be a spokesmodel for your product.

* Display advertising decals on my truck and trailer.

These are the most conventional ways in which I can help promote your products and/or services. There are always more creative and inventive manners to help, and I am more than happy to discuss them with you.

Besides being the brainchild of the wonderful and devoted Jamie Greene, Five Star Tack has some seriously amazing leather creations. The bridles and strap goods that I have from Five Star are beautiful and functional. The bridles are soft and form fitting for almost any head, and the strap goods are seriously hardy. The five-point breastplate is my favorite, and it even fits Nyls with his giant shoulders.

Each bridle and strap good is individually developed in-house and goes through many rounds of revisions in order to bring you a product that won’t be found anywhere else. They have complete control over the manufacturing process to insure that only the best product reaches the buyer. They firmly believe in quality over quantity (just like me!) as it is better to have a small product line of outstanding quality than many products rushed to market of average quality. Being a small company gives them the advantage of easily changing and adding to the product line.

The best part of Five Star is how seriously they take social responsibility. Not only does Jamie make a concerted effort to sponsor up and coming riders, but she donates tons of bridles to racehorse retraining centers (a big plus for me!), and a percentage of all profits are donated to charities engaged in cancer research and outreach. Seriously, could you ask for more?

My local Charlottesville/Albemarle Southern States is pretty much the best place to get your Co-op on. Not only are all the people who work there knowledgeable and friendly to the max, but they are just as interested as you are in finding the best quality product for your horses. If they don't have what you are looking for, it can be special ordered and delivered right to your door.

You are what you eat is a familiar phrase that applies as much to horses as it does to humans. When it comes to equine nutrition and choosing the right feed for your horse it’s more than just picking a feed based on a pretty picture on a feed bag. It’s what’s on the inside that counts.

As we all know, Nyls takes his food VERY seriously, and goodness knows where I would be without Southern States. I get my supplements in bulk through them, and also my grain. They are wonderful experts in pasture soil testing and making sure that you get the right grass to grow in your fields and you are rotating properly to prevent insects and worms. These guys really know their stuff, and as they say, the proof is in the pudding, and Nyls looks fantastic on this diet!
